Jaymar Wolfman Puzzle

Wolfman Puzzle

Jaymar (1963)

Small size 10"x14" puzzle.

It is kind of strange that it is a "Wolfman" puzzle

yet Frankenstein is the dominant character in the artwork.

Super cool piece of memorabilia though!!!

AHI Wolfman - Type A Variant

Wolfman (Type A Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This is the first Wolfman variant produced.

He has a sculpted hairy body and small head size.

Nekkid view.

Side view.

The hands and feet are super cool!!!

King Kong Thronester Model Kit

King Kong Thronester

Polar Lights (1998)

These model kits made by Polar Lights were

re-issues of Aurora model kits made in the 1960's.

Assembled and painted by yours truly.

AHI Son of Frankenstein CUSTOM!!!

Son of Frankenstein

8 inches tall

This is a custom figure that i made

using an AHI jointed wrist variant.

It was missing a hand and had no boots.

The hands are called "spell hands",

they are made for making custom Mego

action figures. The boots came from a vintage

Mego "Fonzie" figure. The tunic was made

from a piece of wash cloth dyed with Rit dye.

AHI Frankenstein - Jointed Wrist Variant

Frankenstein (Jointed Wrist Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

All of the jointed wrist variants

have hairy bodies.

Side view.

AHI Frankenstein - Flesh Variant With Boots

Frankenstein (Flesh Variant w/Boots)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

Also known as the "Type C" variant.

This example is wearing boots whereas

the one in my earlier post wore shoes.

Buger King Universal Monsters Set

Universal Monsters Figure Set

Burger King (1997)

3-3/4 inches tall

These figures were premiums given away in the

Burger King kids meals. The sculpts are very

well done and considered to be some of the

best "happy meal" type toys ever produced.

Each one came with a cool sticker as well.

Unfortunately no Mummy figure was

produced for this set. Not cool BK!!!

Remco Frankenstein

Frankenstein

Remco (1980)

More GITD goodness!!!

Yesssssssss!!!

Super Monstruos - Frankenstein

Super Monstruos Frankenstein

Comansi (1992)

4 inches tall

Super Monstruos was a collection of

PVC figures made in Spain.

They were sold in mylar bags and

came with a pamphlet showing all

of the figures with character descriptions.

AHI Frankenstein - Asian/Stern Face Variant Ultimate Holy Grail!!!

Frankenstein (Asian/Stern Face Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This variant is the ultimate "holy grail" of

AHI Frankenstein figures. It is referred to as

the "Asian" or "Stern Face" variant.

The figure is built on a Type A flat palmed body.

Close-up of face.

I didn't think i would ever own this figure,

but the Ebay gods smiled down on me...at a cost.

What did i need two kidneys for anyway?

ReAction Super 7 Universal Monsters Crypt SDCC Exclusive

Super 7 Universal Monsters Crypt

ReAction (2015)

This was an exclusive set only available at the

San Diego Comic Con in 2015.

The set includes The Creature, Frankenstein,

The Wolfman, and The Mummy.

They glow in the dark!!!

AHI Frankenstein - Cupped Hands Variant HOLY GRAIL!!!

Frankenstein (Cupped Hands Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This variant is considered a "Holy Grail" by

AHI collectors due to it's extreme rarity.

The body used for this variant is different

from any other figure in the line. The feet are

slightly larger, so they came with soccer cleats.

Normal shoes and boots will not fit.

AHI Frankenstein - Green Body Variant

Frankenstein (Green Body Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This variant, also called "Type B" has an entirely

green body while the other "Type B" has a

flesh colored body with green forearms.

He is also sporting a lime green sweater instead of brown.

Here is what the body looks like nekkid.

Another variant of a variant. It's hard to keep up!!

White Castle GITD Monsters!!

Glow In The Dark Monsters

White Castle (1992)

4 inches tall

These were freebies in White Castle's version

of the "Happy Meal". The set includes Frankenstein,

The Wolfman, and The Mummy. These are pretty rare

because they came out just ahead of the toy collecting

boom of the mid-90's. Nobody was really saving

fast food premiums yet. White Castle is a relatively

small franchise compared to McDonalds or BK,

so there were not a huge amount of these produced.

ReAction Frankenstein

ReAction Frankenstein

Funko (2014)

3-3/4 inches tall

This is the friendliest looking Frankenstein

in my collection. The fact that he is

not wearing a black jacket makes a lot of

collectors very angry. I kind of dig stuff

that is unorthodox myself. You do You though!

AHI Frankenstein - Flesh Variant

Frankenstein (Flesh Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This figure is also referred to as the "Type C" variant.

This variant was produced toward the end of the timeline.

AHI started to cheap out and used flesh colored bodies

on all of the figures except for the Creature.

They did away with Frankenstein's sweater presumably

to save on production cost. He is wearing shoes but

i have seen the same variant with boots as well.

Variants of variants!! The collecting will never end!!

Horror Hearse "Monster Mania"!!!

Jaymar Frankenstein Puzzle

Frankenstein Puzzle

Jaymar (1963)

This is the small size 10"x14" puzzle.

Here it is put together. The image was inspired by the

film "Frankenstein meets the Wolfman" (1943).

I love that the guy on the table has a pool of blood

under his head and there is a giant hypodermic needle

laying there. Little kids were not snowflakes in the early 60's.

The Tomland Yeti Figure Is Ernest Borgnine???

So.....

I just learned that the head sculpt for the

Tomland Abomindable Snowman/Yeti was

based on a character that Ernest Borgnine

played in a 1975 movie called

"The Devil's Rain".

Now every time i look at that figure i see this...

W.....T.....F???!!!

AHI Frankenstein - Flat Palmed Variant

Frankenstein (Flat Palmed Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This is the "Flat Palmed" variant,

also referred to as "Type A".
The hands face out rather than to the side of the body.

This variant has a hard rubber head

whereas the others have a squishy head.

Remco Mini-Monsters Frankenstein

Remco (1981)

AHI Frankenstein - Green Variant

Frankenstein (Green Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

I am completely obsessed with AHI Frankenstein figures

and have many variants that will be seen in future posts.

This variant is sometimes referred to as "hands to the side"

or "Type B". AHI never made an official designation for these

figures, so it is left to collector interpretation.

Jaymar Dracula Puzzle

Dracula Puzzle

Jaymar (1963)

These puzzles came in three different sizes.

This is the "Large" size 17 x 22 inches.

Here it is put together. Awesome graphics!!!

It's cool that Frankenstein is included.

It is really difficult to find these puzzles in good condition.

The top of the boxes are usually crushed in because

some stupid kid sat in the middle of it or something. :)

Scare Cycles "Bone Shaker"!!!

Scare Cycles "Bone Shaker"

Ideal (1978)

These came with a haunted house base with a crank on it

like the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle. You would get that

gyro action spinning and send it careening across

the linoleum floor in your mom's kitchen. Then

it would come to an abrupt stop when it smashed into

the fridge. Finding these with the base is almost impossible,

so i had to settle for just the Scare Cycle.

It glows in the dark too!!!

I'm a total sucker for spiders with skull heads.

That psychedelic background is pretty sweet too!!
