Jaymar Frankenstein Puzzle

Frankenstein Puzzle

Jaymar (1963)

This is the small size 10"x14" puzzle.

Here it is put together. The image was inspired by the

film "Frankenstein meets the Wolfman" (1943).

I love that the guy on the table has a pool of blood

under his head and there is a giant hypodermic needle

laying there. Little kids were not snowflakes in the early 60's.

The Tomland Yeti Figure Is Ernest Borgnine???

So.....

I just learned that the head sculpt for the

Tomland Abomindable Snowman/Yeti was

based on a character that Ernest Borgnine

played in a 1975 movie called

"The Devil's Rain".

Now every time i look at that figure i see this...

W.....T.....F???!!!

AHI Frankenstein - Flat Palmed Variant

Frankenstein (Flat Palmed Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

This is the "Flat Palmed" variant,

also referred to as "Type A".
The hands face out rather than to the side of the body.

This variant has a hard rubber head

whereas the others have a squishy head.

AHI Frankenstein - Green Variant

Frankenstein (Green Variant)

AHI (Azrak-Hamway) (1973-76)

8 inches tall

I am completely obsessed with AHI Frankenstein figures

and have many variants that will be seen in future posts.

This variant is sometimes referred to as "hands to the side"

or "Type B". AHI never made an official designation for these

figures, so it is left to collector interpretation.

Jaymar Dracula Puzzle

Dracula Puzzle

Jaymar (1963)

These puzzles came in three different sizes.

This is the "Large" size 17 x 22 inches.

Here it is put together. Awesome graphics!!!

It's cool that Frankenstein is included.

It is really difficult to find these puzzles in good condition.

The top of the boxes are usually crushed in because

some stupid kid sat in the middle of it or something. :)

Scare Cycles "Bone Shaker"!!!

Scare Cycles "Bone Shaker"

Ideal (1978)

These came with a haunted house base with a crank on it

like the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle. You would get that

gyro action spinning and send it careening across

the linoleum floor in your mom's kitchen. Then

it would come to an abrupt stop when it smashed into

the fridge. Finding these with the base is almost impossible,

so i had to settle for just the Scare Cycle.

It glows in the dark too!!!

De Horribles "The Gooky Screamies" Jiggler

 De Horribles

"The Gooky Screamies" Jiggler

Goldfarb Novelty Co. (Mid 1960's)

I'm a total sucker for spiders with skull heads.

That psychedelic background is pretty sweet too!!

Distinctive Dummies - The Plague of the Zombies Figure

The Plague of the Zombies figure

Distinctive Dummies (2015)

#32/60 produced

8 inches tall

The attention to detail on this figure is outstanding!

All of the Distinctive Dummies figures are hand painted.

The Plague of the Zombies is my favorite movie

produced by Hammer films. The film made it's

theatrical debut in 1966. If you haven't seen it and are

a fan of zombies, do yourself a favor and check it out!!

Terrible Magic Knife - Rack Toy

Terrible Magic Knife

Made by S.K. (Early 1970's)

I don't think these graphics would be considered

politically correct today. It is some really cool

artwork though. I can just picture some little

kid running around with this on his head!! LOL!!

Muton - Enemy of Earth

Muton - Enemy of Earth

Denys Fisher/Strawberry Fayre (1977)

9 inches tall

This is an extremely rare figure because it was only available in the U.K.

It is based on the Henshin Cyborg 12" figure line from Japan

that would become the father of the Micronaut toy line in America.

So i immediately got on the internet and ordered one,

Is this the most controversial toy ever produced?

Not sure about that, but it is right up there.

Waiting for LEGO to sue for copyright infringement,

then i will sell it for a YUGE profit and retire!!!
