Marx Monsters ~ Dark Green

 Universal Monsters Figure Set

Louis Marx Reproduction (1990's)

6 inches tall

Marx Monster figures from Mexico in

a rad dark green color. My OCD is at a

level 10 due to the fact that the Wolf Man

is missing from this set!!!

I think this is the coolest color of all

the Marx Universal Monsters.

Slate Blue Marx Universal Monster Figures

This set has "Hecho En Mexico" stickers

on the bottoms of the figures. I really

dig this color of blue.

Ed Repka Creature Figure

Creature From The Black Lagoon

Marx (Newly Made Reproduction)

6 inches tall

This figure was painted by the great Ed Repka

for the Monsters vs Madness charity auction,

which raised money to benefit Planned Parenthood.

Ed is most known for his amazing artwork on

the early Megadeth album covers, and the

creation of their mascot "Vic Rattlehead".

He did the card art for the Super7 Reaction

Universal Monster Figures, and was made

the Art Director for NECA Toys in 2002.

Ed has been a major influence on my own

artwork, and i have been a huge fan since

the mid 1980's. It is an absolute honor

to own and add this piece to my collection!!

Marx Phantom of the Opera Prototype

 Phantom of the Opera Figure

Louis Marx (1963)

6 inches tall

I got this Phantom figure from a prolific monster

toy collector named Freddie Poe of the famed

"House of Poe" collection. It is a prototype molded

in a "steel blue" color. Freddie acquired it from

a guy named Peter Fritz who was the foremost

expert on Marx toys. When the last Marx factory

closed it's doors in 1980 Peter bought a ton of

stuff from the people doing the clear-out of the

factory, and got his hands on many prototypes

and other rarities. Peter sadly passed away in 2017.

The last pic shows it next to an original

"teal blue" figure. Note the crisp detail of

the "steel blue" figure. This is the only one

of these known to exist. I am extremely

honored to own such an awesome piece

 of Freddie Poe's amazing collection!!!

Lone Ranger in "The Crooked Gambler" Disguise

Crooked Gambler Disguise for The Lone Ranger

(1975) Gabriel/Marx

These toys were for ages 3 and up.

Can you imagine the outrage that would occur if you

gave a 3 year old a toy that included a 12 gauge shotgun

and a bottle of whiskey nowadays?

This is one of the reasons the 70's were so great!!!
